About our Family
We are a blended family of six that have struggled over the past 7 years to find some peace and connection in our every day life amongst the hustle and bustle of New York. We appreciate your support of our family and farm and look forward to sharing this piece of our lives and work with you.
We spin a lot of plates here at King’s Rose Family Farm.
I like to say that we understand the importance of diversification. Most of our endeavors are based in a foundational desire to live a more self sufficient life
and teach our children valuable life skills.
Now we hope to share some of that with others.
Additional information about Rose Swider, General Manager, and Consultant:
My journey in agriculture began during my pursuit of an Associates degree in Fisheries and Wildlife at SUNY Cobleskill. While studying, I joined an organic free-range egg production farm, where we started with just a few dozen hens and expanded to nearly 300 within two years. As the general manager of the property, I played a key role in transforming it from a residential property into a self-sustaining operation, establishing multiple food, fruit, and forest gardens. After leaving Cobleskill and welcoming my first son in 2012, I set out to complete my Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science with a focus on Sustainable Agriculture, which I achieved in 2015, after the birth of my second son.
Over the years, I have gained extensive experience by working on various organic farms across upstate New York, learning valuable insights during my time as a field worker and farm manager.
In 2018, I seized the opportunity to work in a prominent indoor cannabis cultivation facility in Pittsfield, MA, where I gained invaluable knowledge in effective high-yield production methods. Following that, I also contributed to a large outdoor cultivation project in New York.
Currently, I prioritize spending quality time with my family while offering my expertise through consulting services to those seeking guidance or assistance in both indoor and outdoor cultivation endeavors.
